OnePlus 7T Pro: A Flagship Phone From 2019 Still Worth Considering

The OnePlus 7T Pro was released back in 2019 but it remains a very capable smartphone even in 2022. This phone emphasized top-of-the-line specifications and a premium design at a more affordable price point compared to other flagship devices.

Design and Display:
The 7T Pro has an all-glass construction with a curved AMOLED display that measures 6.67 inches with a resolution of 1440×3120. This provides a sharp screen with a tiny notch for the front camera. The 90Hz refresh rate made animations and scrolling look extra smooth. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure biometric unlocking.

Performance:
Powering the 7T Pro is the Snapdragon 855+ chipset which was Qualcomm’s top offering in 2019. It continues to provide plenty of power for all tasks. Configurations included 8GB or 12GB of RAM along with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. This ensured flawless multitasking and plenty of space for files and apps. OxygenOS also provided a clean Android experience.

Cameras:
The triple rear camera system consisted of a 48MP main, 8MP telephoto and 16MP ultrawide. It was capable of taking great shots in various lighting conditions. The pop-up selfie camera had 16MP. Video recording topped out at 4K at 60fps on both fronts.

Battery:
Keeping the phone running is a large 4085mAh battery that supported the company’s fast Warp Charge 30 standard. This allowed for a full charge in under an hour which was impressive in 2019.

Even in 2022, the OnePlus 7T Pro remains very usable thanks to its powerful internals. While it may no longer receive the latest software updates, for those on a budget it provides flagship features from a few years ago at a more affordable price point now. The 7T Pro showcased OnePlus’ ability to deliver a high-end experience without the exorbitant cost.
