Introduction:

The Infinix Hot 8 launched in 2019 aiming to provide reliable performance for daily essentials at an attractive price point. But does it still hold up considering evolving budget options today?

Design:

With a glass front and back, the 6.52-inch display in slim 8.7mm body felt premium for its cost. Build quality seemed durable enough for average use.

Hardware:

Powered by Mediatek Helio A22/P22 chipsets paired with 2/4GB RAM, it handled basics smoothly at the time. Storage options up to 64GB with microSD were appreciated.

Display:

The 720×1600 resolution LCD was adequately bright with average color accuracy. Outdoor visibility was fair.

Cameras:

The 13MP main, 2MP depth and low light sensors captured reasonable shots. Selfies came out well from the 8MP shooter too.

Battery:

A sizable 5000mAh battery provided enough juice to easily last over a day of moderate usage on a single charge.

While alternatives have improved vastly since 2019, for its original affordable price the Hot 8 remains a viable choice today for basic daily chores if found at a good discount. It delivered solid value back then without compromising much.
